Lloyd Kenny was born and raised in Waterford City in Ireland. Although it’s a small town its underground dance scene is one of the best in the country and its been dubbed Chi-Ford in honour of the House capitol of the world Chicago. With that said, Lloyd's love for electronic dance music started at a very young age, while in his teens he would go to clubs to see some of the biggest names in dance music like Laurent Garnier, Miguel Migs, Kerri Chandler, Sneak & Mark Farina (to name a few) do their thing. It wasn't long after that Lloyd wanted to be on the other side of the decks. It was back in 2005 Lloyd's journey began; he purchased a set of decks and began practising heavily at home. it wasn't long after he got his first break for Street Beat a local house music show on FM radio which aired one of his mixes which followed with a guest appearance at its monthly club night. Since that night Lloyd has gone on to play for some of the main house nights in the city including RePublik & Bar Groove.
Not happy with just spinning tunes, about 2 years ago Lloyd started dabbling in production and bring his own unique bumpin' touch to his sets. His early productions started making the rounds with some of Dj elite and it was soon after labels started inquiring about his music. His first official release a track called 2.57am came on Irish label Bump Academy. Since then Lloyd has gone on to sign tracks with Yakuza Recordings, Pastada, Disko Zoo, Minority & Serial Sickness. His tracks have also featured on web radio stations Myhouse-Yourhouse & Chicago FM and they have been charted by Dj Sneak for Mix Mag & iDJ magazine (track:Yodel, label:Pastada, chart position:4)
In 2009 Lloyd continues to put his stamp on the underground house scene and has recently teamed up with some likeminded Dj’s from Waterford to combine their efforts to push their Chi-Ford sound out. Their first couple of tracks are already getting big hype from people like Mark Farina, Miles Maeda & Sneak. At 22 years of age Lloyd really has his finger on the pulse and promises that there will be a lot more to come in 2010!
